Absolut Health

I'm pleased to announce that Health Diaries has signed a sponsorship deal with Absolut Vodka. Starting on May 1st, visitors to Health Diaries will see ads for the world-famous vodka throughout the site.

The slogan for the advertising campaign will be: "Absolut Health" and will promote the fact that drinking two ounces of vodka per day reduces the risk of coronary heart disease and some cancers. According to the study:

"Long known for its ability to work magic on the mind, vodka has now been shown to work magic on cancer cells. Researchers at the University of Helsinki, Finland injected mice with tumor cells. After 10 days, mice that drank the equivalent of two ounces of vodka per day had 78% fewer tumors than the control group. In mice that already had active tumors, the vodka reduced tumor size by 38% over a period of 12 days."

Like water, it seems that vodka is an overall health builder and one that can be enjoyed by everyone. Because of this, it is a fitting sponsor for a site that features a wide range of voices and opinions. People may disagree on alternative vs. traditional medicine, they may clash over vegetarianism vs. meat-eating, but everyone can agree that a few ounces of vodka, whether straight up or as part of a favorite cocktail, is pleasant and beneficial.

A spokesperson for Absolut says, "We're pleased to have this opportunity to get our product out to those who can most benefit from it. As researchers learn to better understand the health benefits of vodka, we believe those who drink Absolut on a regular basis will not only achieve good health - they will achieve Absolut Health."

I hope you're all as shaken and stirred as I am. Keep an eye out for the ads. Knowing Absolut's history of unique advertising, they should definitely be something to look at!
