Living off Air - Breatharians
Working on a health site, I read a lot about different health movements and diets. Carnivores, vegetarians, low carbers, raw foodists, pescetarians, fruitarians. There a so many differences in the way people eat, but they all have at least one thing in common: they actually eat. Breatharians, on the other hand, do not. They claim to live off the air and sun. I've read about people who claim not to have eaten anything for years. So is it possible? I personally do not believe it is. People have died while attempting to become breatharians. All I know is that life would not be any fun without food. As someone with a strong Italian-American family food tradition, I might as well be dead if I can't have good food and wine. I'm a pescetarian these days, meaning I eat a mostly vegan diet but I also eat fish on occasion. I look forward to my meals.
If anyone's interested in learning more about the Breatharians here is the Wikipedia entry about them and the link to the Breatharian Society.
Happy eating, whatever you happen to eat!

Interesting...um.... wouldn;t that be called, in some circles, "anorexic"?
i've been researching this topic for an assignment.
The official site claims that it is a religion. There is a section with a man who claims not to have eaten for 20 years. He also claims that he ocassionally eats for social purposes only.
It's not anorexia Pilgrim, they feel they can obtain their sustenance through light energy and air.
Hard to believe, I know.
seems to me like an ideal lifestyle. imagine: no cavities, no elevations of cholesterol or triglycerides, little or no diabetes, no risk of dietary carcinogenesis, no chance of food poisoning, etc...
and besides, on a practical level, think of the money you'd save with no grocery of restaurant bills! the more i think about it, i believe that if we could foster widespread adoption of the breatharian lifestyle, much of the evil in the world would vanish. think about it, brothers and sisters, and spread the word...
to be a bretharian there is different phases to get there they start out with just eating vegies then go to just one type of vegetable and they have different ways to prepare their meals such as cooking it with the sunlight you can emagin how much energy that food comes with onec they actually stop eating they inject themselfs with oCean water it has to be a so many feet under soit's clean, they say that ocean water has the same components as blood that is why they do such a thing it's really cool to actually get to know different cultures and not judge them

That's got to be the strangest thing ever. People who believe they can live off just air and sunlight? However, it does make one think. Imagine if it was discovered Luciano Pavarotti was a Breatharian!
