Plant Allergies
I tested all the plants around me yesterday. In addition to the ficus (we have one large and 3 small in the house, a fern was also bad. Outside on the walkway and the deck the jasmine (a lot of it) and two other plants were bad. There is also a BIG ficus tree right by the front door outside. So I will clear all of those on Monday.
The clearing for drafts (wind) was not pleasant. A fan was blowing on me for 20 minutes and it was freezing! So much for a relaxing accupuncture treatment. But the 25 hours is up in 10 muinutes and I can go outside! I sure hope this makes a difference.
I cleared the two vitamins so at least now every one I'm taking is alright. I take a lot so it is nice to know they are helping not hurting.

Your allergy sounds pretty severe! Mine was not that bad. I just sneezed a lot around my "bad" plants. You could easily get rid of the allergy if you want to consider NAET. Check the NAET website and see if there is a practitioner near you. The last time I trimmed my ficus I had no problem.
I'm sure there are plants that are considered "safer" than others, but unfortunately that doesn't mean you would necessarily be O.K. with them. But I would stay away from other plants with the poison sap. (I was also allergic to jasmine which has the sap.)
Good luck!
I would like to know if there is a known allergy to forsythia

After I trimmed my ficus tree it was so bad that I would awake in the middle of the night with asthma and a burning nose. Is this a common problem? The sap alone irritated my skin. I have now gotten rid of the plant, it broke my heart, had it for 7 years. It took me a while to realise the allergies were bad just after trimming. The tree was 6 feet tall. Does anyone know of "allergy safe" plants????
