Doctor Follow-Up
Had my follow-up with my doctor. Not much new. I took in the blood pressure record I had been keeping at home. It's consistently low at home and pretty normal in his office. His nurse took it and it was 110. When he came in we talked for awhile, and he decided to take it and "see if I can get it up". It shot up to 140! Second time it came down to 120. Guess I have a problem with doctors. Do you think I don't like them? LOL So I'm supposed to keep doing what I'm doing and try to keep my blood volume up by drinking lots of water, etc.
He wants me to go to an allergist. I have tried to tell him about NAET in the past but of course didn't get too far. He was probably thinking to himself, "What on earth is she talking about?" He didn't pursue it so I dropped it. I'm not sure what to do about this chest stuff now. The thought of seeing a regular allergist again just doesn't apeal to me. Skin tests, allergy shots? I did that 20 years ago and it didn't work. I'm sure things have probably changed after all these years, but I don't want to do it again. So he could give me different allergy drugs to try? I've also done that and haven't had much luck. I have been spending over a year doing NAET and here I am still trying to manage these outdoor allergies. Unbelievable.
So I'm considering going to go to a Naturopath and see if he can help at all. I have always wanted to see one but never knew anyone who had been before. Now I have a recommendation so we'll see.

Hi Brindle~
I read your entry on LiveJournal. Very interesting and a great idea!
Wish you would consider doing a diary here. It would be great to have someone else writing their experiences with NAET.
You just inspired me not to give that up. I had an appointment with Devi's office a few months ago that I canceled because it was so far, but I think I'll reschedule. Maybe they could discover something that Lisa couldn't.
I do believe that success with NAET depends on the practitioner you have. Sounds like you have a good one. How much experience does he have and was he listed on Devi's site?
Elizabeth, thank you for replying! Likewise, I wish you were on LiveJournal because I am so engrained there with my own personal blog & that's where most of my real-life friend's blogs are too. I just today started up that alt_allergy community & I am trying to promote it to draw in a bunch of creative minds & support.
My practitioner is Roger Stainbrook & he was trained by Devi. He said that he used to be on the NAET site, so he was shocked when I told him that his entry was no longer there. He said that he noticed another cohort of his was no longer there as well. I'm not sure when he did his training with Devi, but it must have been some time now. I think he was going to email & find out why he was no longer on the site. Here's his bio if your interested:

I'm located in Dallas, TX. What part of the world are you in? I'd LOVE to sit down & compare notes with you. Seems like we have a lot of unfortunate problems in common, but something tells me we have a lot of positives in common as well. :)
I'm really glad you decided to renew your NAET & I hope you are able to get to the bottom of the respiratory problems you are having! It sounds a whole lot like what was underlying the asthma that sent me to the hospital. Keep searching! And don't let those Western docs give you too many nasty prescriptions.
If I can pursuade you into the land of LiveJournal, I'd LOVE for you to take an active joint role with me in the moderation of the community I created. I think we'd have a lot to share as a team. No pressure (*giggle*), but here's the link to create an LJ account if you're interested. You'd need a personal acct & then I could add you to the community.

Thanks for your kind thoughts! I will keep reading your journal to keep up with your NAET progress, but for now I'll just have to stick with writing here. Wish you would change your mind about a diary! LOL
Email me any time: elizabeth15@verizon.net and we can compare notes.
Hi Elizabeth and Brindle!
Elizabeth,
I just read most of your journal. Thank you for detailing all of your experiences with NAET...I am not finding as many objective testimonials online as I would like to, but yours is very helpful. I will be going to my first appointment in just over a week and have been reading up as much as I can on it. It sounds like you have done a lot of work with NAET and I am wondering- do you feel any improvement at all? My main concerns are with acne and digestion and I have basically tried EVERYTHING. I know that NAET isn't an overnight solution and can't necessarily 'cure' me completely, but even some improvement would be nice.
Brindle,
I am on lj and actually just joined your community a few days ago. What a coincidence! Thanks for charting your progress, too. Best of luck!
Blessings,
Shawna

Hello, I've been following your blog for a while now. Sorry to hear that you are still having problems. I've been doing NAET for a few months, but just recently (in the last few weeks) had to go to the ER with asthma for the first time in my life. Not only to the ER, but I was hospitalized for a few days. Anyway, I know how terrible it feels to have a setback.
One of the things I am working on with my acupuncturist is my reaction to diseases. Apparently I had a sensitivity to several respiratory diseases, so he created a homeopathic med for one of them & used NAET to treat the others. Something is *still* causing me inflammation though, so we're meeting for 2 hours today to run through ALL of the NAET test kits to see what it is.
Keep your chin up & keep trying to do what you can!
If you're on LiveJournal,
I just created a new community for people seeking alternative treatments for allergies. I'd *love* to have you on there since you've had so much experience with it already. Please join if you're interested & thanks for posting!
