NAET Hasn't Helped Enough

Well, it has been awhile. Shawna, I'm sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. You asked if I had had success with NAET. A few months ago I think I would have said yes, but lately I think my answer would have to be that it hasn't helped enough to really make me feel much better. I have just kept getting worse and worse.

I think it has helped with some of the allergies, but I have been having to come to terms with some basic facts.

I spent a year and a half of misery clearing all those things (NAET is hard work) and spent thousands of dollars. After my last treatment with Lisa I was not feeling well and called her for advice. She was in a hurry and basically dismissed me. I thought we were "friends" after all that time. But I was obviously wrong, because she has never even called to see if I was O.K. I never made another appointment. So I guess it was basically just business for her after all. I should know as much by now. Stupid me! I usually always think the best of people.

So bottom line: Yes, I think you can clear some allergies with NAET. But the whole time I was thinking that once my allergies were gone I should be better. But that has not been the case. I forgot something. Why have I developed all these allergies? What is the cause? I have just been attacking the symptom, not the problem.

I have always believed that all the penicillin, birth control pills, allergy shots, etc., caused this, but I still thought I could just rid myself of the allergies and be fine. (Can never get rid of all the outdoor allergies with NAET because they change everytime the wind blows.) Now I have to figure out where to go from here to get to the root cause and attack that. I have been miserable for almost twenty years now. But I will not give up.

Lately I have been listening to Dr. Robert Marshall's radio show online. Very interesting. There is a new half hour every day and an hour on Saturday. Give it a listen and explore the site if you have a chance. Interesting bio on him. I have been listening for weeks to get a feel for his philosophy, and am considering finding a practitioner.

Merry Christmas!

Not too much new here. Lisa has moved her practice 45 minutes away so it's harder for me to get there. I saw her on Wednesday and we tested a lot of things I had been collecting. Most were fine. Just two cosmetics weren't.

I still have the cough but it really isn't too bad. I will need to clear ouside stuff again. They are still doing construction across the street and will be for some time to come unfortunately.

Bah Humbug to my eye doctor who did send me a bill after dilating my eyes by mistake for 12 days. I was really hoping it wouldn't happen and I haven't decided what to do about it yet.

Have a wonderful holiday and a Healthy New Year!

NAET in the News

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Ours was nice and quiet and relaxing. Now I almost have all the Christmas decorating done. I'm actually pretty organized this year.

Just read an interesting news article on NAET. Seems that more and more people are finding it.

The chest injury has pretty much healed. I guess the rib wasn't broken because if it had been I think I would still be in pain. Still no word from the eye doctor. He didn't call back like he said he would. And I haven't been sent a bill yet. Maybe that's a good sign!

NAET for Allergies

I cleared DDT on the BioMeridian machine today. I thought we had tested DDT a long time ago when we did all the chemicals, but I didn't have it on my list. The field dirt and the outside air sample were both bad so I cleared those the regular way and with acupuncture. I guess I'll just stay inside for the 25 hours. Hope it helps.

What is NAET?

Here is another great explanation of NAET.

"NAET is a safe and effective technique in detecting and eliminating or desensitizing all types of allergies. NAET combines Kinesiology (Muscle Responsive Testing), Chiropractic and Oriental Medicine to clear allergic reactions through a reprogramming of the brain.

Our brains have a natural built-in subconscious function controlling the immune system, which has the potential of keeping us allergy free. What has been developed is a technique that consciously focuses the brain on a single allergen while clearing the blocked energy formerly associated with that allergen. This technique can successfully desensitize the body in order to achieve an allergy-free state."

The article goes on to explain how it works and includes some testimonials.

Fluorescent Light

We tested some things on Wednesday, among them fluorescent lighting which I was sensitive to. I have a little fluorescent light right in front of my eyes when I'm on the computer. We put them in as under cabinet kitchen lights when we built the house six years ago, not realizing at the time that I would be sitting right in front of one. I didn't even have a computer then so hadn't planned for a desk area.

I have wondered for awhile if it might be a problem. I know that they aren't too good for you even if you aren't sensitive. I've tried just turning them off but then I can't see to type.

So I cleared that on the machine and found a company that sells filters for them. I didn't want to tear them out and this was the only solution I could find. I just have to do something so I'm not staring into this light. Can't believe I have been for six years. I have macular degeneration in my family so I worry about anything that could hurt the eyes. The sheet will be here on Tuesday. I hope it works.

If anyone has any questions and would like to email me I would be happy to try and answer: elizabeth15@verizon.net

NAET for DPT Shots and Mumps

Monday I cleared DPT shots and Mumps. As I mentioned before, all the other vaccinations tested O.K. They didn't have a shot for the mumps when I was young.....I got the mumps. I'll never forget waking up with the swollen neck and running to my mom yelling, "What is this?!" I don't remember it being really horrible. Just some days home from school. Maybe I've blocked it out! LOL

So after testing weak for both of them I cleared them the regular way. Obviously nothing to avoid so it has been easy. I'm going back tomorrow to do some testing on the MSAS machine.

NAET

It's been almost a month since I posted. I had to buy a new computer after mine became infected. The bank called and informed me they had two credit card charges that looked suspicious...totaling $22,000!! I think I clicked on something I shouldn't have and "they" managed to get all my information. I received an email that looked like a confirmation of an order for around $400. I panicked thinking maybe someone had gotten my credit card so I opened it. By the time I realized what it was I think they had already downloaded information because that's when all the trouble started. I am usually so careful but this one was very very clever!

So what's new on the NAET front?

I've cleared enzymes, dust mites and carob. I took a lot of samples to check foods that I want to eat.....strawberries, blueberries, avocado, goji berries, cacao nibs, etc......all O.K. I seem to be getting stronger.

I cleared more chemicals, black pepper and meat on the machine. It was great to get that done so I can eat the buffalo again.

Things are going well with my new eating plans. I'm eating a lot more vegetables and fruit. I have to watch the fruit though...don't want too much sugar because of hypoglycemia and I don't think too much, even if only fruit is good. We bought a juicer and love it! I sent one back about five years ago because I thought it was so much work for little output and very hard to clean. But I LOVE this one and it's pretty easy to clean. And I'm a lot more motivated now.

I have to say though that juicing is a full time job! It takes a lot of fruit and vegetables to do it every day, and we're trying to do organic. So we have to buy a few things that we use a lot every few days....like apples, carrots, celery, and the store is not close. Then you have to wash and put away. The Evert Fresh bags are a lifesaver though. Don't think we could do it otherwise. I'm doing a carrot, celery and apple juice in the morning, and a tomato, cucumber, celery, and lime drink in the afternoon. I never thought I would be able to get a carrot juice down but it's actually pretty good. I have a few juicing books so need to start experimenting more. I've used kale, parsley, lemon, watermelon, cantelope, and beet(didn't like!)

The goji berries are great and the cacao nibs are....."different". O.K., they don't taste like dark chocolate to me. They're very bitter. But knowing how good they supposedly are for you helps, and I must admit that after I ate a handful I felt pretty good!

So I have basically cut out all grains, pasta, rice, and popcorn...I miss popcorn! I was already not eating dairy or sugar. I'll still eat the buffalo, eggs, fish (mainly Vital Choice salmon), and am adding mostly vegetable juice and fresh fruit and vegetables. I just hope I can stick to it!

Cantaloupe for Dessert!

I cleared Melon Mix, caffeine, and red and white wine on Wednesday. A funny combination to do together but it tested as O.K. to do. Did it the regular way so had to avoid for 25 hours, but that was easy.

I had cantaloupe for dessert yesterday and it was sooooooooo good!

I've decided I have to try and start eating better. I don't eat bad, but I don't eat good either. No sugar or dairy, but not many fruits and vegetables. So I ordered a juicer and went on a "healthy shop". Had an avocado yesterday for the first time in years. Put a little lemon juice on it. Great! I'm trying to buy organic but it's a challenge where we live.

I ordered some things from a raw food site: coconut oil, olives, cacao nibs (you have to read about those!!!!), and goji berries.

I'm starting out slowly, but I should have done this a long time ago.

If you have never heard of Evert Fresh Green Bags check them out. They will keep your fruits and vegetables fresh longer and save all of that waste. I can buy strawberries now and not have them moldy the next day. You can get the bags at QVC, Gaiam or other online stores. A little expensive, but reuseable.

Meat, Caffeine and Fluoride Allergy

Barometric pressure didn't clear in combination so I had to do it again. Six minutes on the machine. I had a feeling it might not have cleared because the rain was coming and I felt terrible. Trust your instincts.

We had some extra time so I checked a lot of things that we had never tested. These were bad:

DPT shot, mumps (they didn't have the shot when I was little but I had the mumps), fluoride, caffeine (no wonder the coffee they slipped caused such a problem), Gum Mix (not even sure what that is yet), and Meat Mix (beef, pork and lamb). Guess I should have tested that a long time ago. I don't eat much beef, mainly buffalo which is better for you than chicken. But since buffalo obviously is also meat I need to clear it.

Not too bad considering all the things we tested. That means I'm almost done with the food for awhile. Still have melons, black pepper, red and white wine, and meat to do. I keep putting off melons because there are more important things to do, but summer is coming and I'm dying for a piece of cantaloupe!

Fossil Fuels Allergy

I told Lisa yesterday that I needed to work on getting my lungs better. The asthma was terrible and I just couldn't take a deep breath. Turns out she has an asthma vial and thought we had tested that. I said no, I would have remembered that since it's a major problem. I have just been trying to cure all the allergies so maybe the asthma would resolve itself.

So she brings in the asthma vial and guess what? I don't have asthma! The problem is inflammation from allergies. I always used to argue with my doctor about this. He would insist it was asthma and I would say I think it's allergies that lead to bronchitis. He would insist I use the Advair and forget about trying to treat the allergies but it would never work. I guess now I know why. I finally quit going to him. He just wouldn't listen to me. I can't believe that all this time we never tested that.

I went out to the car and wiped the windshield like I did on my first visit to Lisa. It tested bad again which means all the new stuff is in the air now and I have to clear again. I will just have to do that periodically to keep up with everything blooming, etc. I'm going to do that on Monday since I'll have to stay in for a day or so. Right now I have a jar of water sitting outside to collect stuff and will also use the car dirt again.

So she tested fossil fuels and I failed. She thinks that could also be contribiting to my lung problems and we cleared them on the machine. Fossil fuels are materials that can be used to produce energy (heat and power) that were created from plants and animals that lived millions of years ago....coal, natural gas, diesal fuel, and petroleum which I've already cleared.

That would mean car and truck exhaust, gas stoves, water heaters, gas fireplaces, etc. Mmmmmmmmmm....every time I cooked! I sure can see why some people end up doing this for years. But I am making progress.

I finished up with a great acupuncture treatment for the lungs and I go back tomorrow. Right now I'm off to get my roots done with the haircolor I'm no longer allergic too! LOL

Oxalic Acid Clearing

I cleared oxalic acid on the machine Wednesday. I had been putting it off because I didn't want to avoid for 25 hours. You can't eat much if you have to avoid that way. I really wanted to clear this because I think it's important. I'm glad it's done.

From answers.com I found this explanation:

"Oxalic acid (IUPAC name: ethanedioic acid) is a bi-carboxylic acid with structure (HOOC)-(COOH). Because of the joining of two carboxyl groups, this is one of the strongest organic acids. The anions of oxalic acid as well as its salts and esters are known as oxalates.
Oxalic acid and oxalates are mild toxins found in many plants. Oxalic acid is a strong acid that irritates the lining of the gut when consumed, and can prove fatal in large doses. Oxalic acid also combines with metals such as calcium in the body to form oxalates which further irritate the gut and kidneys. The most common kind of kidney stone is made of calcium oxalate.
Because it binds vital nutrients such as calcium, long-term consumption of foods high in oxalic acid can lead to nutrient deficiencies. Healthy individuals can safely consume such foods in moderation, but those with kidney disorders, gout, or rheumatoid arthritis are typically advised to avoid foods high in oxalic acid or oxalates.
Foods that contain significant quantities of oxalic acid include cocoa, chocolate, most nuts, most berries, rhubarb, beans, and beets, among many others.
In addition to its natural occurrence in plants, oxalic acid may also be found in household chemical products such as Bar Keeper's Friend, some bleaches, and rustproofing treatments. It is also used in wood restorers where the acid dissolves away a layer of dry surface wood to expose fresh material underneath."

After that clearing I had a regular acupuncture balancing treatment.

My husband came to find out how much calcium he should be taking. Just an extra capsule a day. Lisa tested him for coffee in the waiting room and he flunked big time. She's still trying to find out why the hands and feet are tingling. So he cleared that on the machine and three minutes later came out and tested strong. It is so amazing! He was drinking a lot of coffee every day. Water processed decaf but still not good if you're allergic.

I had a dermatology appointment Thursday for a body mole cancer screen. She found one that looked suspicious so had it off. I'll get the results in a week. Great....just one more thing. I had one removed last year that ended up being very close to BAD. Had to go back in and take bigger margins. So now I'm supposed to get checked every six months.

But hey! I'm not allergic to the adhesive on bandaids anymore so it's not bothering me! Go NAET!

Biomeridian MSAS

I forgot to test the hairspray when I went last week but I'm pretty sure it's O.K. I'll check it when I go in tomorrow.

Lisa and I got caught up in talking about the new machine, the MSAS, and it really is fascinating. I've been trying to do some research into how it works. I found some interesting things about testing but haven't found anything yet on clearing.

There is an interesting history:

"In the early 1950s, Reinhold Voll, a German medical doctor, developed an electronic testing device for finding acupuncture points electrically. He was successful in finding acupuncture points and demonstrating that these points, known to Chinese acupuncturists for millennia, had a different resistance to a tiny electrical current passed through the body, than did the adjacent tissues. Many other researchers have also verified that electrical conductance at the acupuncture points is significantly greater than the surrounding tissue. Voll then began a lifelong search to identify correlations between disease states and changes in the electrical resistance of the various acupuncture points. He thought that if he could identify electrical changes in certain acupuncture points associated with certain diseases, then he might be able to identify those diseases more easily, or earlier, when treatment intervention was likely to be more effective. Voll was successful in identifying many acupuncture points related to specific conditions and published a great deal of information about using acupuncture points diagnostically.4 (Until Voll, these points had been used mainly for treatment). He found, for example, that patients with lung cancer had abnormal readings on the acupuncture points referred to as lung points. Changes also occurred in the electrical conductance of the acupuncture points supplying musculoskeletal structures that are inflamed."

For the rest of this article visit the Biomeridian site.

Anyway, I cleared the rest of the "weather"...the dampness, heat, and
barometric pressure on the machine. Couldn't do heating so will have to do that the regular way. You just hold your hand on the machine for 3 or 4 minutes. No avoidance, no 25 hours.

I am having a little trouble believing that this can really work, but I'm starting to understand the principals behind it from the articles I've read. Time will tell. I'm going to test it on pepper. I'll be able to tell right away if I have cleared that. I'll just have my husband cook with a lot of pepper like he used to before I found out I was allergic. Believe me! I'll know if the machine worked! If it has I won't be sneezing and miserable like I usually am.

Lisa says that testing on the machine is not as accurate as muscle testing. About 70%.

My husband cleared calcium the old way and on the machine, with no avoidance. Tomorrow I want him to test to see how much he should be taking now. I'm hoping it will have an effect on the tingling hands and feet.

If anyone out there has used the MSAS please let me know what your experience has been!!

Hairspray Allergy

I've been doing a few emotional clearings and I have some advice if you are going to do these with NAET. Concentrate on one event at a time. For example, I did a clearing for fear and anxiety and instead of concentrating on one time that was bad, I pretty much went everywhere and thought about the things that had happened for twenty years. That's too hard on your body and you could end up clearing nothing. So the last few weeks have not been too good. Very tired. Plus I'm back on antibiotics for the bronchitis, so I'm sure that is not exactly making me feel chipper.

Yesterday I had to do a clearing for hairspray. They quit making the one I have used for years and had already tested O.K. It just killed me to do this. It seems like such a waste to clear something like this because of the time and the money. But if I don't use a little hairspray my curly hair flies all over my head and gets very big and very unattractive. LOL And you sure don't want to be walking around all day with something on your head you're allergic to. So I first had to find one I like (Sebastian Shaper Plus), and naturally when I tested it it was bad. So that's what I'm clearing.

My husband has been doing a little testing. He's still having the tingling hands and feet problem and the foot cramps, so he tested potassium and magnesium. Allergic to both and they've been cleared. Yesterday he found out he has a sensitivity to calcium and that may be causing the problem. (Tested as being 80% of the problem.) He's going to clear that on Wednesday. It's so funny to watch him being tested. He can't believe he can't keep his arm up! He had Lisa test him three times for the calcium! There was also a slight allergy to pesticides so don't know if he'll clear that or not. I still worry about the DDT he was exposed to as a child.

And guess what! Lisa has a new machine so he can clear it and not have to avoid calcium!!!! Not fair!!!! All the horrible clearings I've done and now there's a better way! I haven't used it but he cleared the potassium and magnesium that way. I don't know too much about it yet, but the name is Biomeridian MSAS (Meridian Stress Assessment System). So the next few months should be very interesting.

I'm going to do cold mist, dampness and cold humidity tomorrow. It's not raining now so I want to get it done. But maybe that doesn't matter because she said she can put them into the machine and I don't have to avoid. But for extra measure she wants to clear it the regular way too. So I'm going to take in a jar of ice cubes. That's what Devi says to use in her book. I'm really hoping this one helps my lungs.

NAET Emotional Clearings

Back in town and back to the NAET clearings. After doing some research and a lot of reflection I have decided to concentrate on some emotional clearings for awhile. There are a lot of things in my past that still bother me and are probably contributing to my bad health.

I had my first one yesterday and it has really thrown me for a loop. It was for fear and anxiety...clearing out 20 years of panic attacks, anxiety, and the fear that came with that has left me utterly exhausted. I was in bed most of today and still can hardly function. I have heard that it takes about five days to recover from an emotional clearing and it takes longer for your body to recover than your mind. It was a totally horrible experience and hard to go there but well worth it.

Here is a good quick explanation of NAET that I found. I have been catching up on everyone's diaries. Great to be back!

Oh, and the air conditioning cleared! LOL

NAET for Air Conditioning

It's been about two weeks since I posted. Lisa was on vacation so I had a break until today.

I have to say it was very strange not going for two weeks. It had really become the focus of my life and I kind of went into withdrawal and really missed going. It was frustrating because I have so much to do and it felt awful to not be making any progress. I also missed talking to Lisa! On the other hand it has been a very nice rest.

On the way to her office I had a brilliant idea if I do say so myself. It has stopped raining, the sun was out and I had the air conditioning on low. I have to clear that so I asked Lisa if there was any reason we couldn't do it in the car? It would be so much easier to get that space cold and to be in front of an air conditioner than it would be in the house. It wouldn't have worked in her office and she would have had to come to my house. We were trying to figure out how to close off one room and get the air blowing in enough.

So after some questioning she determined that yes, it would work! So I turned on the air, got the car cold and then we both got in and did the clearing and the acupuncture. She got out and left me for 20 minutes.

Boy, was she the lucky one! I can't remember when I was that cold!! Talk about a long 20 minutes! And I thought clearing the wind was bad! LOL

It looks like we can also clear the heating that way. I think a "car clearing" was a first for Lisa. But it sure makes a lot of sense and sure beats the alternatives. So if anyone out there is doing Naet and needs to clear these, consider doing it this way. Worked great!

Now it's our turn to be gone for a week and a half so my next appointment isn't until the 21st. The rain brought some of my bronchitis back and I'm just hoping it doesn't get bad while I'm gone. I hope everyone out there is doing well!

If anyone has any questions you can email me at liz87659@yahoo.com.

Hair Dye Allergy

Yes! Yes! Yes! I cleared all the heavy metals! A huge relief! I tested all four Mixes plus the things we threw in like a battery, paperclip, pencil lead, aluminum foil and the razorblade. (The armpit itching is not completely gone but I have high hopes.)

On my way to the office I stopped at my hair salon and picked up a sample of my hair dye. I have suspected for a while that it might be a problem. Sometimes my scalp really itches and gets red when I go in. So it was not a big surprise that it tested badly. It's a 40 hour clearing but not hard to do because I really don't have to avoid anything but the sample. So that's what I'm doing right now.

I suppose with all of these allergies I really shouldn't be coloring my hair, but I'm not ready for the natural look yet. The grey that I have is not pretty!

I have about recovered from the coffee mixup! Yesterday was murder. Horrible headache I guess from the caffeine withdrawal. I never get headaches, but I remember when I cut caffeine out years ago I had one for days. So between that and the effects from the clearing and the effects of the rain I was really in bad shape. I could hardly function at all and ended up going back to bed. This morning I woke up feeling much better.

I really wish all of this rain would stop so I can clear dampness and humidity. I think it would make a huge difference in how I feel. I seem to be saying that for everything but I have really realized just how bad I feel when it rains.

I guess you just have to keep drilling down through everything until you finally come out the other side. A very long process.

Heavy Metal Allergies

Well, it wasn't 25 hours, it was 35 hours of hell! I absolutely can never do this one again and am scared to death I may have to because I screwed up 3 times!

After retesting the total hours went up. Maybe because my immune system was down because of some bad chicken the night before. Not sure. This is the second time I have done these. The first time they (aluminum, nickel, cadmium, and lead) didn't clear in the Mineral Mix and the Heavy Metal Mix.

You can't use tap water which really means you can't wash your face or brush your teeth properly. You can't wear metal or touch metal and have to wear gloves. The bright side was Lisa determined I could use the computer with gloves, and be in the kitchen and still clear. But it's like suddenly being put in prison. Metal is everywhere! I had to tape all the metal on my glasses again.

The first thing I did wrong was take my vitamins with the minerals in them. I was thinking "heavy metals, not "minerals". May be O.K. since I was really only doing the heavy metals. (How's that for a positive outlook?) Then I had some soy milk with filtered water in it. You're only allowed distilled. Then I touched my computer and forgot I hadn't put the gloves back on. 35 hours is too long!!!

The plant mixture I took in cleared along with the extra flowers I took in. I'm wondering now if we should have tested each plant separately because I am definately learning that just because the mixture clears it doesn't necessarily mean everything in it clears.

The Really Raw Honey came and I tested that. It tested fine and is REALLY raw (unfiltered) and very good. I took some to Lisa and she also tested it.

So Monday I get to see if the metals cleared. Should be interesting. I'll be holding my breath and willing my arm to stay up!

My dentist sent me a list of all the metal in my mouth including trace amounts and it seems to be fine. Thank goodness!

NAET Testing

Thank goodness "wind" is over! The clearing was fine. We tested all of what I call the "weather". Cold, dryness, and high altitude were fine. Humidity, cold mist, dampness, heat, heating, air conditioning, and changes in barometric pressure were not. Some can be combined but it is still 5 different clearings. This really is unbelievable!

I tested some more cosmetics which were fine. I'm hoping after doing a lot of things I can compile a lst of ingredients for the good and bad and come up with what may be causing a problem in some of them.

I'm clearing plants right now until tomorrow morning. (35 hours.) I took a few more things in to test and ended up adding two more to the jar. The flower on the schefflera was bad and the plant was not. The flower from the buganvilia was bad and the plant was not. We thought I had passed the Flower Mix but there is still obviously a problem so we added that vial to the plants when I cleared it. I'm going to take a few flowers in tomorrow to see if they're clear.

On the way to the office I stopped and got an olive tree sample to test. It was fine so I guess that cleared when I did trees. That was one of the things I tested allergic to all those years ago before I started the allergy shots.

Tomorrow is the clearing for metals again. I have been prepping for it all day. Thankfully my husband will be home because Lisa thought I should just stay out of the kitchen this time because there is so much metal out here. And no computer. Boy, will I be in withdrawal! I am so used to getting up in the morning and getting email and the news!

After doing some research on metals I called my dentist. Even though I have had my mercury amalgams out I wanted to see if there was any nickel or aluminum in my mouth. She said she would check on any trace amounts but otherwise no. I guess some dentists use nickel for crowns (cheaper), but she doesn't. That was a relief! I am so glad mercury is clear and I no longer have any in my mouth!

The worst part about clearing metals is wearing the gloves and no tap water. You just can't wash your face or hands, etc. Oh well, only 25 hours and maybe it will all clear this time. I will be very happy Thursday night when that is done!

Muscle Testing

Still can't get a good reading. What on earth is going on? I wonder if it could have something to do with the treatment? I was able to test the whole time I was clearing for the vinegar. And as soon as the 25 hours were up I tested the vinegar to see if it was O.K. and it was. Then the next day I couldn't seem to test anything clearly.

Maybe somehow you're stronger and all the pathways are open when you're clearing. Or maybe I'm just loosing my mind!!! Everything I thought will probably be just the opposite tomorrow. And if you can never be sure maybe it is better to not do it youself. It will make you crazy!

Sure wish it was as definitive as muscle testing. Every time we do that I am absolutely blown away! I have read articles that say it is a bunch of bunk (like on Quackwatch), and all I can say is you have to see and feel it for yourself. I get so mad when people dismiss things with no firsthand knowledge. I know it sounds nuts but it works!

Pendulum Testing for Allergies

The neurotransmitters and noradrenaline cleared fine this time.

I had read in Devi's book, (Say Good-Bye to Illness), that sensitive people can react to different physical agents like heat, humidity, cold, cold mist, dampness, drafts, dryness, heating and air conditioning, changes in barometric pressure, and high altitude. I had always thought I didn't feel well when it rains and especially out in the wind. I attributed the wind reaction to whatever was blowing around in the wind such as pollen.

Apparently it is more than that. She tested me for a few of the above things and drafts, rain and humidity were bad. I am going to clear drafts (wind) on Monday. She blows a fan on you for 20 minutes during treatment.

I imagine some of you reading this may be laughing right now. I know it stretches credulity, but all I can say is this stuff really works! If I could go out in the wind without a problem it would be amazing! My husband sails and I was always miserable out there because of the wind and my allergies. He would be so happy if I could go out with him and enjoy it.

I treated for vinegar this time. It wasn't hard to avoid but it was in more things than I thought. Most of the bottles in my fridge had vinegar including catsup and mayonnaise. I thought it was only in mustard and salad dressings, etc.

Before I treated for this I told Lisa that I needed to try and learn a way to self test things. I can't haul everything in there and it takes so much time. I had tried some of the methods in Devi's book and they didn't work for me. So she showed me how to test with a pendulum. She did it with the vinegar--hold object in left hand up close to your body next to your heart and ask "Is this O.K. for me?" Put the pendulum in your right hand. Swings clockwise for yes and counter-clockwise for no. I think each person can determine direction that is true for them.

As soon as I got home I started practicing. It worked right away for me! I first used a gold chain with a locket on the end and tested stuff in the kitchen. Whoa!!! I couldn't believe that every piece of metal I touched was bad! I thought I had cleared most of that in the Mineral Mix, but I know you sometimes have to do some things in the Mixes over individually. (Today it dawned on me! Could that be why my armits have been itching for a year???? THE RAZOR? I have ruled out all the obvious things like deodorant and soap but never considered the metal in the razor!)

I quickly realized that I shouldn't be testing with something metal, so I found an old arrowhead in my jewelry box and tied a piece of yarn to it. It did work better and I started over and got the same results. All the metal was bad, and I started going through makeup and creams etc. It was all so clear I couldn't believe it. Hey, maybe the arrowhead has special powers!! LOL

Yesterday I did some more. And this time couldn't get it to work the same. For some reason I seem to have lost the "power"! It goes left, then right, then back and forth, then up and down.... and I can't get a clear reading. It is sooooo frustrating! Some things are clear but a lot I just can't tell.

So I'm going to take some of the things in Monday, along with metal pieces, and have her test them. I can hardly wait to see how accurate I was! I do think metal is bad but it's possible I tested nothing right. If it is metal it would certainly explain why I'm still having a problem in the house. I use my computer at a desk in the kitchen surrounded by stainless steel appliances, etc. Metal is everywhere and is not fun to clear.

Does NAET Work?

Because I had tested badly for the bandaid, I decided to try an experiment before I cleared what I thought would be adhesives. I put a bandaid on my stomach for 2 days so I could see the red rash and figured I could do the same thing with a similar bandaid after I cleared to see if it worked. My own little NAET experiment!

So after two days I took the bandaid off and there was nothing there! How could that be if I hadn't cleared it yet? I couldn't believe I didn't have a rash!! Believe me, in the past it has gotten so bad that I had even purchased special tape for cuts, etc.

I took the bandaid in to retest and I was no longer allergic! Apparently I cleared it when I cleared latex/rubber. Amazing!

Even though I did believe all of this was working because I am slowly getting better, to actually see something like that was pretty exciting!

And I'm no longer allergic to mercury after all these years! The Mineral Mix, Mercury, and Amalgam cleared. Guess I could even get a tetanus shot now if I needed one.

The neurotransmitters and noradrenaline didn't clear, so I treated for that separately yesterday. No restricted diet, no gloves, and no set hours. (It's the little things!) I'm going back tomorrow to see how it did.

I also tested some more products, mostly hair things so I can weed out the ones that may be causing a problem. The ones I failed that I really want to keep using I suppose I could clear separately later, but for now I think I'll just use what I know is O.K.

Mercury Allergy

I tested clear for mold on Wednesday. We had to cancel the appointment for my husband due to a family emergency. Hopefully we can reschedule that next week.

I took in a bunch of samples like detergents, cleansers, moisturizers, etc. Everything was clear except the Cetaphil facial cleanser. But I had another cleanser that was fine so at least I know now what is O.K. to use.

I decided to clear mercury so Lisa also checked the Mineral Mix. I has supposedly cleared that with my first practitioner, but wasn't surprised that Lisa said "no". I guess I can't trust anything that was done then.

So I treated for Mineral Mix, Mercury/Amalgam, and Neurotransmitters. Noradrenaline was bad, adrenaline was fine. Makes sense with the anxiety disorder.

Thank goodness I have already had my fillings out so I could chew! Otherwise you can only drink liquids because chewing releases the mercury into your system. I had to use gloves for 25 hours to not touch metal. I screwed up a couple of times so hope it cleared. We'll see on Monday!

I'm back on the penicillin for ten days. I finally had to give in and do it. Just couldn't shake the cough. I think the bronchitis is getting better but the penicillin sure is making me tired.

Fog from DDT Trucks

My husband used to play with his friends in the "fog" from DDT trucks in the 1950's. Apparently this was a pretty common thing for kids to do then. The trucks would come by once a week when he lived in Hawaii to spray for mosquitoes. No one at that time thought it could be harmful.

Even though he is basically healthy he has been having some tingling and cramping in his hands and feet. The doctor has checked him out with a few tests, and it stopped for awhile. It seems to be back now so after remembering the DDT exposure I talked him in to getting tested for pesticides and DDT. Should be interesting. He is going to go in before my appointment on Wednesday.

NAET for Mold

I drove home with a mask on Monday! How does Michael Jackson do that?? I felt completely ridiculous and conspicuous! But I treated for mold and that was the only way to do it. As soon as I got home I took it off, but had to stay in for 40 hours.

The only food restrictions were mushrooms and leftover moldy food. I rarely have any leftovers around so that was easy.

Right now I'm free again and get to go out to dinner tonight. Hooray!

I did test clear for the paraffin, latex etc. Thank goodness that's done!

January 15, 2005

Latex Allergy

I tested clear for the food additves, etc. on Wednesday. I did some research to see what connections there were to the paraffin so I could check before I clear that.

Paraffin is made from gasoline wastes. There is a Crude Oil Mix that has gasoline, plastic products, and latex products. Latex is related! So of course I didn't pass that. And also didn't pass gasoline separately. I took in a sample of petroleum jelly which was fine. So I cleared paraffin, gasoline, latex gloves, and the Crude Oil Mix.

I had to do 25 hours wearing a robe (no underwear with elastic) and cotton gloves (can't touch plastic or rubber). Really a pain since I wasn't even allergic to plastic but it was in the Mix. The whole time I'm thinking what on earth am I doing? I am so so so so tired of this!!!! But it seems to be working and certainly is better than the alternative! I sure hope I pass all of this because I sure don't want to do it again.

On a different note, the beeswax candles I ordered from philoxia.com arrived last night and are fabulous! And we started drinking the cherry juice. Tastes great!

Dangers of Paraffin Candles

I cleared the penicillin and so far thankfully do not have to take it. I think the bronchitis is a little better.

Right now I'm clearing food additives, food coloring, and artificial sweeteners (along with MSG, modified food starch, Whiten-All, and sulfites thrown in for good measure) for 35 hours. It was funny when I was prepping for this because it turns out food coloring is in just about all cosmetics. Even those that don't look "colored" have some. So I went to Lisa's completly bare-faced. The diet isn't too bad though.

We tested a bunch of things. I had found an article on allergies. For example, if you have a problem with X,X, and X, the you might be allergic to X. I know I'm allergic to melons so we tested things that might be related. Latex and vinegar were bad. Nuts and cucumbers were fine and cherries were fine. Good, because I want to drink the cherry juice. But latex is going to be hard to clear.

I tested epoxy resin because of an association to adhesives, inks, and flooring. Sure enough, it was not good. How do you clear that? It's probably the glue holding everything together. Also tested the adhesive on a bandaid. It was bad but I already knew that. When I wear one I get red and itchy.

I took in samples of paraffin, lamp oil, and beeswax. I'm allergic to paraffin. Can't be within 20 ft.! Did you know that paraffin is in mascara?

I had been reading articles on candles and safety and had decided to no longer burn paraffin. I found a great site that sells only 100% beeswax candles. Even some candles that say they are 100% beeswax may not be. Check out this site and read all of their great articles. You'll be amazed! If you have any health issues...or even if you don't...do some searches and reading before you continue to burn paraffin.

From the above site:
"Paraffin on the other hand has many health ramifications. Anyone with allergies, etc., will tell you of the negative effects of burning paraffin. Over the years we have sold our candles to many top executives and technical engineers of the Petroleum industry. They do not even let their families touch paraffin, much less burn it in their homes. Please do not let your families burn paraffin, or eat it, as this same ‘petroleum by-product’ substance is commonly used to coat all our fruits and vegetables, as well as being used as a preservative, stabilizers and fillers within many food products, including all commercial chocolate bars, processed foods, dairy products, breads, jams, etc."

Does that mean that paraffin is on non-organic apples? Yuck!

Anyway I was in a closet throwing out a lot of candles and started coughing and "dripping" so I had a good idea it was the candles and I was right. I'm going to clear paraffin tomorrow. I still want to leave a few my candles for decoration even if I'm not going to burn them and when you go to other people's houses it is probably paraffin if there are candles burning. After reading those articles I could never burn them again. And of course I don't need it on my eyelashes and I think it may be in things like lip balm but I haven't checked yet.

Mold Allergy

I cleared the H. Pylori and then treated for penicillin on Wednesday. I only had to do it for 25 hours and now if I have to take it for this bronchitis and when I take it for the dental cleaning (mitral valve prolapse) it should be O.K.

I can't quite shake this out of my chest so I think I will have to take it. I filled the presciption but I keep putting off taking it hoping it will clear up by itself.

I sure wish the weather would clear so I can clear mold. I think it is making me miserable. I have just gotten worse since the rain started. But right now it's supposed to keep going until next week and then has to dry out so it could be awhile.

Cupping Therapy

My husband and I were treated for H. Pylori yesterday and just have to do it for 25 hours. It's so great not to have to do a clearing that involves food!

I think he enjoyed his first acupuncture treatment and she tested him for some basics first. He is super healthy so I wasn't surprised that everything tested was fine except for spices. There's something in there he is allergic to. He'll have to decide if he ever wants to go clear it. I'm also glad he could see how the whole thing works.

I passed the perfume and alcohol. Also took a couple of my samples in to check and they were fine, and just for fun I took in water samples to test. Bottled water was fine, our tap water which is conditioned was fine, but the regular tap water which I got from outside was not. I guess I don't need to worry about it since it's not coming into the house but it bothers me. What could be in that water that I'm allergic to? I've already cleared chemicals etc. I think I'll do some research.

Checked a few vitamins. Lisa told me how much calcium to take with my vitamins and how much fish oil. I was taking too much calcium and not enough fish oil.

I still have this cold and it's going to my chest. I told her I was probably on the verge of having to take antibiotics. I really don't want to do that...especially since I haven't cleared it yet. I was going to do it with mold but it's still raining here so have to wait.

Anyway, she asked if I wanted to try "cupping." She thought it might help to clear my chest. So after my acupuncture clearing I did that. It was really fascinating! My husband got to watch. I guess you can even learn to do it at home. I put a link here to a news story if you want to read about it. I guess people are familiar with it because of the picture of Gwyneth Paltrow with the marks on her back. My marks are pretty much gone this morning and I do think my chest is better. Maybe I will be able to skip the penicillin.

Lisa is so great! Very patient with all my questions. I wish everyone could try this. If you are having any health problems please consider NAET. You may have allergies you don't know about that are making you sick.

NAET Testimonials

We had a very nice relaxing Christmas. I caught a cold which is still hanging on but it hasn't been too bad.

My next appointment is tomorrow. Both my husband and I are going in to clear H. Pylori. Just no kissing or "exchanging of bodily fluids" for I don't know how many hours yet! LOL

Check out this site I just found. Some great NAET testimonials!

Naet Treatment Holding

Checked my treatment this morning to see if I had ruined it with the mustard. It was still fine so I just have to finish the 50 hours.

Found a great article on NAET here. Check it out if you're considering this or are just interested in how it works. There is also some interesting information on Dr. Cutler's methods.

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!

Perfume and Alcohol Allergy

Everything went well. I cleared the floor and chemicals!!!!!!!
The irony has finally hit me though. We put in a wood floor instead of carpet because it would be better for my allergies!

Tested a few other things. Potatoes, the Nightshade Mix, all the individual sugars including lactose , Stomach Acids, and Base were all O.K.

Artificial Sweeteners were bad. I never use those so don't know if I will clear or not. Also Enzymes but I need to clarify exactly what that is.

We treated for perfume and alcohol yesterday and I have to do it for 50 hours. It took me a day to prep the house because alcohol is in cosmetics and food too. Perfume wasn't too bad. I just cleared all the bottles away and checked all the ingredients in cosmetics and put away all the magazines with perfume samples, etc. I had ordered some fragrance-free samples to use for shampoo etc.

So I came home and had some mustard with my meat! What is wrong with me? I have a college degree! I ran my own business! After all that prep I did something so stupid! As soon as I finished it I had a bad feeling. I had looked at the label and seen vinegar but it didn't register. Ran to the computer and googled vinegar. Yep...made from alcohol! I thought I would just die!!

I called Lisa and asked if I had just blown the whole thing because I certainly didn't want to do 50 hours for nothing. She said maybe not and to come in Wed. morning to check. (tomorrow now.) After more research I do think it may be O.K. By the time it gets to mustard there can't be too much left. We'll see.

I am determined to finish this one before Christmas though. And I can't start over. If it's bad tomorrow maybe she can just clear me again. This one is too hard to abandon and do later. I washed my hair with no condtioner (they All have alcohol) and then couldn't get a comb through it. I think I lost a lot of hair by the time I got done. I can't do that again! But I don't want to be clearing on Christmas Eve! I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

NAET Clearing

So much for my plans. Had dinner and then hit the bed at 8:30. Sooooooooooooooo tired! This clearing is really getting to me. I slept for 11 hours. Got up at 7:30 and then went back to bed from 8:30 'til 10:30. I can't believe it! I never sleep like that.

The motel is going to give us a very late checkout and we're going to head home at 9:00 tonight which will be the required 30 hours.

So no movies unless we watch one tonight. They charge $12.00 to watch though so we might as well wait until it comes out and rent it. I think I just want to go home. It isn't exactly a romantic getaway when you're this tired!

But I WILL be well soon!

Cat Allergy

Well, here we are in the motel to clear the wood floor and chemicals.

My wonderful husband has helped me get everything set up to avoid chemicals in here and we have computer access for both of us. I'm tired and starving so he'd going to bring in Chinese. Sounds so good! There are some good movies we could watch. Collateral or Bourne Supremacy? Maybe we should stay a week!!

I cleared the cat dander. I even took in a sample of my daughter's cat and it was fine. So I guess it wasn't too critical that I didn't wash my hands.

Have to do the floor and chemicals for 30 hours.

After this I'm going to do perfume and alcohol together...for 50 hours! Yikes! It will be hard to stay in for two days right before Christmas but I need to get it done.

Lisa tested my husband for H. Pylori today and it was bad as we thought. So we will clear that together next month.

December 14, 2004

Pesticides Allergy

I cleared pesticides and we checked a lot of other things.

Fabric Mix, nylon, cotton, plastics, radiation, turkey and formaldehyde were fine.

Food coloring, food additives, chemicals and alcohol were not O.K. I don't drink anything alcoholic because it affects me so badly but alcohol is in just about every cream and hair conditioner. That is going to be really hard to avoid and clear. Every hand cream I own has it, along with all the body moisturizers and just about everything else. I might see a big improvement if I clear that and I think I should be able to do it the same time as perfume since most perfume has alcohol.

Also rechecked all the grains and they were O.K.

Also tested badly for H.Pylori, but I already knew I had a problem with that. So does my husband...you just pass it back and forth.
So we are going to have to clear that together.

Before I left we treated for animal dander. I have known I was allergic to cats since way back during the time of the allergy shots. My daughter has a cat, so every time she comes over the hair comes too. Since I had to go to a luncheon today we tried to find something to clear so I could still go outside and still eat. I'll know tomorrow if it worked but I forgot to wash my hands before I left the office, (she forgets to remind me) and also sat next to people with pets. Should be interesting to retest tomorrow.

Tomorrow we treat for the wood floor and chemicals and then head for the motel to clear. I got a printout of everything in the floor and it is full of toxic stuff! May be a little hard to clear chemicals in a hotel because of the things they use to clean but we'll see. I've been washing things in plain water this evening and have to take some sheets and towels with me. Sure defeats the nice part of a motel when you can't even use their towels. Oh well, figured I might as well try to treat two things at once since I have to leave the house anyway. I'm looking forward to two days away and maybe relaxing!

Corn Allergy Cleared

I was strong when tested for corn on Monday. Thank goodness! We also tested a lot of vitamins and they were all O.K.

Because it was raining I couldn't treat for mold and penicillin. So we treated pesticides, and I had to do it for 35 hours. Not too bad. I just had to make sure I had plenty of organic food on hand and couldn't go outside. I'll know Monday if I cleared it.

December 4, 2004

Perfume Allergy

I passed all the spices yesterday, including the tomato sauce finally. That was the one I had tried to clear separately and couldn't. Guess it was the spices in it.

Checked two samples of the field dirt and they were both O.K. She checked me for wood and I took in bamboo and they were both fine. But the wood floor is still a problem so it must be the glue or something in it.

I asked her to check perfume and it was bad, which didn't surprise me. Also checked a couple of my face creams and they were fine. That did surprise me because some of those things have so many ingredients! Guess it's mainly the perfume bothering me, and I have already cleared so many things like C and green tea that I'm sure that has helped other combination things.

I'm clearing corn today. Only 25 hours this time. Monday I'm going back to treat for mold and penicillin. Just have to make sure it's not a rainy day. And then next week we are going to a hotel fo 45 hours to clear the floor and perfume. She always checks to see if it's O.K. to treat things together and how long is needed.

I asked her if she has had many patients with this many allergies. She said no, I am pretty much a universal reactor. I also asked about the treatments lasting because I have read some posts where people said they didn't. She said if done properly they should last, even if for example you clear corn and then eat it three times a day. I really think people that don't have success with NAET just don't have a good practioner, and I have experienced that.

I do have to say that even though I have cleared so many basics I am not feeling much better yet. I have noticed that the foods I have cleared don't seem to be giving me a problem. She is really interested in seeing what happens after I clear the floor. I can't avoid it since it's everywhere!

The acupuncture treatment with NAET is so totally relaxing. You just melt into the table. Really is great!

Allergic to Spices

Lisa said the organic turkey should not have been tough! We must have just gotten a bad one. I'm still not sure I would want to give it another try though!

I am clearing the two Spice Mixes today...have to do it for 35 hours this time. I took in samples of onion, garlic, oregano, pepper, and a pepper mix. All O.K. except the peppers. There must be something else though since I failed both Mix 1 and 2. I also retested the Rosmarinic Acid I've been taking for my allergies from Life Extension. (Rosemary). Christina had said it was O.K. but it wasn't ...so I've been allergic to my allergy pills. A little ironic!!

The field dirt was alright this time which was a little confusing. I had added samples from different parts of the field so will have to test it again on Friday. But I tested allergic to pesticides and here we are in an agricultural community.

Because I am still trying to find out what is bothering me in the house, my husband suggested I take a sample in from our wood floor. And guess what! Yep? I'm allergic to the floor....the wood or the laminate or the glue...don't know. We're going to test wood on Friday, and I'm going to take in a bamboo sample.

So I'm allergic to the inside and the outside, and I'm getting very discouraged. But I guess I'm making progress and will have to try to keep a positve outlook. I think if I had that doctor that I think caused this in front of me right now.....

Lisa said she has heard of JMT. She has a friend who is training in it and then they may get together and combine techniques and see if it would benefit patients.

JMT Jaffe-Mellor Technique

I posted a message on a board asking if anyone had had success with NAET and received the following message:

"We've had great success with JMT (a newer version of NAET). My daughter had so many food allergies, I was afraid to feed her anything. We had been following the Feingold program for over a year before we started her JMT treatments. While Feingold certainly helped, we were eliminating more than just the typical foods eliminated on the program, and were still having "mystery reactions". JMT helped us to find those triggers, and cure them! After 3 treatments I didn't see any changes in my daughter. After the 4th treatment, she actually seemed WORSE. But the 5th treatment was like magic for us. She is now incredibly calm, easy-going and HAPPY! -And she's eating more foods than she has in 2 years. I can't say enough about this method of treament. It has truly changed our lives!"

I have never heard of JMT before and it sounds interesting. No vials or 25 hour clearings. I think I'll ask Lisa about it on Monday. Here is their website.

Mold Problem

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I have a little time while the turkey is cooking so thought I would do a quick post.

Had another visit with Lisa on Monday. I cleared everything we did with an added bonus of dust. That was a surprise! Maybe it was mixed in with the car grime. But she said to bring some house dust in with me next time and we'll check it again.

I took a sample of the dirt from the field across the street from us. It used to be for crops and now they are digging everything up to build houses. I had a bad reaction to that and may have to spend the night in a motel to clear it. Maybe that's why I have been getting steadily worse. No telling what's mixed in that dirt...pesticides etc.

We checked all the C derivatives and I failed Oxalic Acid and Melon Mix. Christina had told me I was allergic to Vit. E and I'm not. And she also said I was not allergic to corn and I am. That's a big one! I kept wondering why I felt so lousy after eating popcorn!

We rechecked the newspaper ink and the fish and shellfish. They were all O.K. and she determined it would be good to have the salmon 4 times a week.

We also checked the natural hormones I take which were fine.

Mold and penicillin were bad. Not surprising considering my history, and I have to take penicillin every four months for MVP and teeth cleaning. I should be able to clear those two together. Mold could be a big problem because we live on the water. And a medication I take was not strong so that's what we decided to clear on Monday. Didn't have to do it for the 25 hours. Just until 10 the next morning.

So the big ticket items are mold, penicillin, field dirt, corn, spices, and the two C's. At least for now.

If anyone out there has ever done NAET I would love to hear from you! It would be great to compare notes.

I wrote a long letter to Christina and basically told her that although I appreciate her kindness and I believe she is good at acupuncture, I don't feel she should be treating people with NAET until she has more training. After 16 visits I am having to redo everything. Very discouraging.

New NAET Practitioner

Doctor's visit was a quick in and out with another penicillin prescription. Next time, (I hope there won't be one any time soon), I should go in sooner. He was hassled. A lot of sick people and a person on drugs that had to be transferred in handcuffs by the paramedics. I just tried not to touch anything! It's flu season!

Now for the best part....my appointment with a new NAET practitioner. Lisa is kind and very passionate about what she does. She has years of experience with Naet, acupuncture, nutrition etc. and loves what she's doing. I was just supposed to have a consult and she ended up spending two hours with me at the end of the day, and seemed to be really excited about helping me....said she loves doing the testing because she can find out what is causing the problems for people and get them well. She said she was so happy I was there because I will get better!

We talked about my previous experience, and I told her about my meltdown. She said it is not too surprising considering I had just been told to go away and come back when better... .all my hope taken away. Interesting!

We went back through the basics and I still cleared them. Then we tested some other things. I am NOT allergic to tomatoes, berries or apples. Now of course I am wondering how many things I had to clear that I wasn't really allergic to because Christina didn't know how to properly test. Not a good thought! Almost everything Lisa did was better...and different. There was really no grey area in the testing. You either pass something or fail it and you can see why. I think she was interested in seeing if I was as weak as Christina had said. Absolutely not. My muscle strength was good. Looking back I think it may be in what they say to you. Every time she tested something Lisa would tell me to "resist". Christina never did. So maybe I was not exerting the strength I should have or could have.

She tested to find out what was the most critical for me to clear. Another new concept. It was outside stuff...grass, pollen, weeds, flowers, trees, etc., and she adds organs, adrenals, cortisol and BBF (bone, body factors) for strength. We got a sample of "grime" off the car because that's what is around our house. She cleared all of that. I also think she's better at the acupuncture. She even put some needles in my ears for stress and taught me a good breathing exercise, (the same one that Dr. Weil talks about in his book.)

Then she tested to see how long I have to clear this time. It was two days instead of 25 hours! And she taught me how to self-treat using the paper towel with stuff from the car. I do it for one day every 2-3 hours. Also said we could go ahead and go out to dinner if I didn't touch the outside of the car and covered my face 'til inside.

So much happened in that two hours and it was all so different that I am still processing a lot. But I absolutely do believe now that I can get well. I'm supposed to go back on Monday and bring anything I want to test like vitamins etc. I also tested allergic to spices which could be what caused the tomato sauce flunking before-- since it couldn't have been tomatoes. But I just don't trust anything Christina did now. I don't think she should be treating people with NAET until she gets more training.

Hope the pollen etc. works but I could have to do it again. Lisa said she had a patient that flunked 2 or 3 times so she finally had to go to her house and treat so she wouldn't be exposed to anything outside.

NAET Experience

Still no phone call from Christina and I am becoming more and more irritated. I think it takes a lot of nerve to leave a patient in the state she left me and then not follow up.

I called and talked to two NAET practitioners yesterday, both listed on the website with a lot of experience. I told one what Devi had supposedly said to Christina and she said she can't believe Devi would have said that. She said that they treat people who can't get out of bed so she wouldn't send you away just because your muscle strength wasn't strong. The only reason she could possibly see for her to make a statement like that was if the practitioner didn't have enough experience to continue.

Mmmmmmm. That's interesting. I searched the site again for Christina's name and found her. Only Basic experience....two months before I started with her. Maybe it wasn't there the first time I looked or maybe I just missed it. So I think she was in over her head and wanted out?? Don't know.

I have an appointment late today for a consultation with a new practitioner. Meanwhile, it's off to the doctor's for the cough.

Pass the Shrimp!

I passed the Shellfish Mix and the shrimp Monday! We tested a few other things. Yeast was still O.K. That still amazes me!

I wanted to test for ink, newspaper etc. because I thought it might be causing a big part of my problem in the house. I have always thought I had a problem with newspapers and when I go in my husband's office it really bothers me. I figured it was from the printer going constantly. Or when I pick up a Newsweek it's bad. Regular magazines don't seem to bother me as much. Maybe Newsweek being weekly the ink is fresher? Sure enough I flunked it big time. All organs weak. So we cleared that and I couldn't touch any paper goods for 25 hours.

She gave me some gloves to wear because it's just about impossible otherwise. It really wasn't too bad. And hey! At least I could eat anything I wanted!!

We also tested some more of the C categories....Berry Mix was bad and a couple of others. So we're going to go back and work on those again next time. I'm dreading doing that again. No make-up, no food.....well, almost no food. But have to finish them because it's in everything I need.

Christina had a great trip to Mexico with Doctors Without Borders.. She said it was so amazing and so rewarding! She would love to do it every month. She worked on a lot of pain issues. Long lines of people at the clinic and everyone so grateful.

Yeast is Clear

My test for yeast came back today absolutely clear. Not a trace of yeast. So much for the yeast theory!! We're going to retest it next week to make sure it is still clear.

I passed the Fish Mix, but failed the Shellfix Mix, so I had to clear that again today. At least it's an easy one. I took samples of salmon and shrimp in. The salmon was fine but not the shrimp, so we cleared the shrimp with the Shellfix Mix. Also tested my fish oil vitamins and they were fine.

I won't be going back for a little over a week. Christina is going down to Mexico with Doctors without Borders next Friday. It will be good to have a rest!

Don't forget to vote Tuesday!!

Fish Allergy

I passed the Citrus Mix on Monday. I know I still need to pass some other derivatives of C, but I just wasn't up to that diet again so soon so we went to the Fish Mix and Shellfix Mix which you can do together. At least I can eat normally doing those. Just no fish of course.

I did have a reaction doing it though. My skin got all red and itchy and a little broken out and I felt lousy. I have had that skin problem in the past, but never knew why. I did suspect food though and specifically shrimp. It would always seem to happen at night after I washed my face....and after shrimp. So this really amazes me! I think there must be a connection. It will be interesting to see if I pass the Mixes. I have a feeling I may have to clear shrimp by itself.

I'm going to take all of my vitamins in on Friday and test them. We have tested a few in the past, but I really want to see how much of what I'm taking is causing a problem. And I take a lot!! She asked me if I have a suitcase big enough!

I keep thinking I should cut back the vitamin list but I can't seem to find some that aren't necessary.

For example, I can't quit taking the eye vitamins because both my mother and grandmother had macular degeneration. And I need the "brain" vitamins because there is Alzheimer's in the family, etc, etc. I just hope I'm not allergic to many of them. Shouldn't be too bad since I have already passed C, B and A. We'll see.

Buffalo Meat and Pasta

Not too much to report. Yesterday I passed the soy so we went on to the Citrus Mix. Hopefully passing that will help with the other C derivatives. Not a good diet though because you still have to avoid all C. Oh well, only six hours to go. Last night I had some pasta and a buffalo meat patty. Hard boiled egg for snack. Not exactly flavorful fare!

Christina told me yesterday she's trying to go down to Mexico with Doctors Without Borders. I guess they fly down on a four seater plane and stay from Friday through the weekend. She said she would be doing acupuncture for pain cases. She's excited because she has always wanted to do work like that. What a great cause!

I Want Tomato Sauce

Surprise, surprise! I flunked the tomato sauce. I sure wasn't expecting that. Christina was surprised too, so she tested some other related things like ascorbic acid, Citrus Mix and acerola, and I also flunked those. So it looks like even though I passed Vitamin C Mix, I still have a problem with the sub-categories. Makes sense because when I tested Juice Squeeze and apples I didn't pass.

I was all set to clear soy so we went ahead and did that. If that clears O.K. I'll either do fish next time because I want to be able to take my fish oil and eat salmon (both of which I failed), or I'll go ahead and start working on the citrus etc.

Sent the stool test in to test for yeast so that problem is on hold until the results come back.

I also took my multi-vitamin in for testing and it was fine. If you are looking for good vitamins, check out Andrew Lessman's. I love them because they are additive free and don't contain milk, soy, yeast, corn, wheat, gluten, sugar, etc. He makes a lot of great things and is always improving them. I really think they are the best out there and I take a lot of his different formulas.

The other company I use is Life Extension Foundation. Their monthly magazine just arrived with an article on a new allergy supplement that is just coming out called Rosmarinic Acid Extract. The studies sound great and I have ordered it in the hopes it will help while I'm working with NAET. All natural, which sounds a lot better than some other things I've tried. Can't wait 'til it gets here. Life Extension is also a great resource for disease protocols. My husband and I have been members for years.

Hope it can help someone out there. I'll let you know how the allergy pills work out.

Making Progress

I had my appointment yesterday afternoon. We had a long discussion on the yeast problem, how I was feeling, etc.

When she tests she tests your strength without an allergen in your hand first. Yesterday I was a little weak so she stengthened me before we started. (accupressure points.) Then we tested the green tea that I had treated last week and I passed that.

Then we were going to go on to clear the yeast again. But she tested me first and I was strong!! So there was a long discussion about how I could flunk it one day and clear the next time without a treatment. The only thing we could figure was that possibly she had strengthened me enough that I had passed. We both think I have a systemic yeast problem though. So maybe the allergy cleared but the systemic problem is still there. I don't really understand it and I think she was a little surprised.

We talked about whether to go ahead and clear it again anyway for good measure, but decided to clear something else and test it again next time I go in.

I had brought a specific tomato sauce in and wanted to clear that so I could eat it more often, so we did that.

I'm going to do the stool test for yeast this week, and she gave me some homeopathic drops for my allergies and a homeopathic remedy for yeast. She did agree that if I can get rid of the yeast a lot of the allergies may go away by themselves.

I do feel like I'm making progress. I'm off to make some green tea!

Systemic Yeast

I took some more of my own samples in yesterday. Tested O.K. to mushrooms this time, and flunked apples! (Good grief...I eat one or two a day!) Rice and corn were also O.K. Even though we still haven't gone back through all the individual grains I wanted to know about those two so I could eat them.

We talked about my reaction to the Yeast Mix clearing. Besides the reaction in the office I really had a bad few days and was still feeling terrible yesterday. So we tested to see if I had cleared that and I hadn't.

I really think now that systemic yeast must be my problem. After some more research I have found that some of the symptoms include food and environmental allergies. Gee....I guess I have those! I seem to be allergic to everything!

Most naturopaths concur that it happens because of some sort of attack on the immune system. Either prolonged antibiotic use, taking steroids or oral contraceptives on a regular basis, or a high sugar diet. The antibiotic and birth control pills part sure fits. Then they think the candida increases during stress and lowered immune states. Gosh....I guess all those little pesky panic attacks could have helped things along!

So because I was not feeling well and have to do the Yeast Mix again we decided to put that off until Monday. I canceled my Friday appointment. She wanted to give my system a rest. But I had brought a green tea sample in and she cleared that. I wanted to be able to drink it and thought it wouldn't be too hard to clear. I'm almost through with the 25 hours and think I'll go a little longer and just wait until tomorrow to have any. I have read that for bad allergies maybe you should wait 30 hours. Probably should have done that for the yeast.

She said to go home, finish the green tea clearing and then rest and eat whatever I want....not worry too much about what I'm allergic to,... just note reactions. I have cleared most of the basics and they are the underpinning of everything else.

Clearing the yeast is going be pretty time consuming. If I don't clear it the next time she has some supplements for me to use and I should probably do the anti-yeast diet for two weeks. Actually, I should probably do it even if I do clear it. I don't see how clearing the allergy to yeast necessarily means you would be free of systemic yeast.

But if I can get rid of the yeast problem maybe some of these allergies will clear by themselves?? Wouldn't that be nice!!

By the way, the little hand-held device for testing allergies from Dr. Devi's office was useless for me. I couldn't get it to work so I gave it back.

Sylvia Brown

Let's see...where should I start?

I went to my appointment yesterday and took a few of my own samples with me to test before we retested the Grain Mix. I'm trying to find out some foods that are O.K. to eat until we can get to them and clear. I flunked tomato sauce and salmon. I eat tomato sauce practically every day!

Retested the Grain Mix and it was O.K. She wanted to go on to Yeast Mix (Baker's Yeast, Brewer's Yeast, Tortula Yeast, Candida albicans) before we go back and test all the grains individually.

I didn't pass. She treated me and I was laying there holding the yeast for the 20 minute clear with the acupuncture needles. Nice and peaceful...I was thinking that it was pretty comfortable. About 10 minutes in it started. First the tears, then the heart pounding, then my hands and feet felt really funny and "light". It was very scary. I wanted to yell for her but didn't. So after the 20 minutes she came in and took the needles out. I got up and washed my hands and just sat for a while shaking. A really bad reaction. I guess this just about proves that all those years of antibiotics and birth control pills really did a job on my body and now I'm allergic to just about everything. I never dreamed it was this bad. I knew I felt terrible every day but I thought it was mainly from outdoor allergies.

She wants to do a stool test and see what's in my system and also see if I'm absorbing nutrients.

O.K. If you're not a believer in psychics then just skip the next few paragraphs. I mentioned in my first post some of the places I had gone and things I had tried in my desperation to find out what was wrong with me.

I had seen the psychic Sylvia Brown on shows like Montel Williams and Larry King telling people what their health problems were. So I arranged a phone consultation. Guess what? She told me my problem was yeast! I said I had thought of that before and had a test that didn't show anything and I never had yeast infections. She said it just hides itself in your system and you have to get rid of it. I tried a yeast diet for awhile but then was diagnosed with panic disorder so I kind of forgot about it. Wasn't thinking that the panic could be caused by the yeast problems. I focused in on the mitral valve prolapse. Maybe they are all interconnected.

I have to go until 4:00 o'clock today before I can eat. Yeast free is hard...basically meat and vegetables. If I have to do this longer I may need a yeast free cookbook because right now I'm pretty hungry.

I go back on Monday. As hard as this is, I really feel like I'm making progress.

By the way, I noticed in a brochure that Dylan McDermott from The Practice endorses NAET. I loved that show!

Failed the Grain Mix

I had a really bad 25 hours doing the Grain Mix. By the next day it was almost like I had the flu, and then at the end I gradually started feeling better. Christina says that is not unusual for a really bad allergy.

I didn't pass grains and have to do it over. A little stronger than last time so some progress was made. Don't know if it was just because it is such a bad one or if I messed it up. I did have some hydrolized wheat protein in my hair at the time and I ate some dextrose which I found out a few hours into the diet can be made from corn.

So I'll have to clear the mix again and then go on to each individual item. We did 3 of them just to see....red wheat was O.K., sprouted wheat and yellow corn were not.

Back again on Friday.

Allergic to Grains

O.K. You probably can't see why it would be very exciting to find out you're allergic to something, but trust me, I just got back from my appointment and am very excited from the things I learned.

I passed Biotin, Choline, and Folic Acid, and am very relieved because I didn't want to do that dry pasta diet again.

Then I passed the Mineral Mix which was also a big relief because you can't touch metals for 25 hours and I was not looking forward to wearing gloves. Can you imagine?

Next was Salt Mix and I also passed that.

Then Grain Mix, and I failed that big time! I have known for quite a while that grains were probably a big part of my problem so it was a relief to get that far so I could clear them. All my organs were weak when tested for it, and the acupuncture needles for the 20 minute clearing really hurt....especially the one in the left hand.

Once you pass the Grain Mix then you go back and do each one individually, just like you do for the B Vitamins. The Mix is wheat, corn, rice, oats, rye, millet, and barley. So it's 25 hours of a not too bad diet...basically vegetables, fruits, meats and water. And after the pasta diet for the B's and Biotin that will be a snap. I really felt bad doing that diet and it was probably because I'm allergic to grains!

Once you finish grains you go on to yeast. So I started talking to Christina about my background. We had never really gone into the past before in detail. I told her I had never really had yeast infections but had always thought I might have a yeast problem. When I was in college a doctor heard a heart murmur and told me I needed to be on daily penicillin to prevent rheumatic fever. So I dutifully followed that advice for about seven years until I got pregnant and a doctor told me I should absolutely not be doing that! I think he was horrified. I remember getting an incredulous look at the time.

So it was penicillin on top of 6 years of birth control pills and then later two years of allergy shots.....and then all of my problems started with the panic attacks, etc.

Christina thought all of this had probably caused my problems and allergies. My body just said "no more." I had always secretly thought this but to have someone agree was really quite a moment. I guess I can probably thank that doctor for losing 19 years of my life, but I guess he thought he was doing the right thing at the time.

I'll never really know...MVP and panic attacks, allergies and panic attacks?
Guess you just have to be very careful what you put in your body because at any moment it can tell you "no" by manifesting all kinds of symptoms.

Anyway, I am pretty excited that there may be a light at the end of this tunnel. I know it is going to take a while but that is O.K.

I took some of my own samples in today in little glass vials and asked if she could test so I could at least avoid them until we can clear them. I was slightly allergic to the Juice Sqeeze I drink everyday, to soy milk and to green tea. She said I could still drink them until we clear,--just dilute.

She is going to order me a little self testing device from Dr. Devi. That will be great! You could even take it to the grocery.

I also talked to her about the lists that they give out for what you can eat...i.e. saying you can eat cauliflower when eliminating biotin. She faxed my sheets to Dr. Devi so they can see the problem. She agreed that it can really sabotage people if they don't look things up on their own.

So all in all it was a great day!

Biotin Allergy

I passed the A's and the B's yesterday, so I guess picking up the bowl of chicken wasn't a deal breaker. Then you test all of the B vitamins separately and I passed everything but the biotin. Biotin is actually Vitamin H but is in the B Mix. I really don't understand how you can pass the Mix with biotin in it and then flunk biotin by itself. Same thing with sugar. I guess I can pass Sugar Mix with lactose in it and then flunk lactose separately. Confusing?

Biotin is in things like soybeans, milk, egg yolks, nuts, fruit....actually there is a little bit in just about everything. The things I eat all the time with biotin are eggs, tomato sauce, soy milk, beef, and chicken. I take soy supplements and my hair vitamins have huge amounts of biotin.

So basically I'm back to dry pasta with pepper,--and I had some shrimp last night. Not feeling well at all. Very tired. This is hard on the body.

I have discovered that you really need to have a computer (or a food expert) to do this. The food lists they give you are not comprehensive enough. If you just go by them I think you'll end up sabotaging yourself. And it's horrible to spend all that time and energy and then eat or touch something you shouldn't have. For example, my list says you can have raw or cooked cauliflower but if you search biotin on the web you find cauliflower has it. It says you can have cooked fish so I was going to have some canned salmon, but my search said no. I wonder if some people fail and give up because of this.

So far I have been allergic to C Mix, B Complex Mix, A Mix, and Biotin. Back on Friday for the next round.

B Vitamins and Anxiety?

Had a bad day. Maybe there is a connection between the B's and the anxiety disorder.
Have just felt terrible the whole time. I made it until 3:00 with hardly any food. Nothing today 'til 3:00 and just some pasta yesterday with some pepper for flavor. I could very well have a wheat allergy because that's all I ate yesterday and I woke up this morning feeling really lousy. I shouldn't have tried to do B's an A at the same time. The combination just left nothing to eat.

The book says you can eat white flour pasta when doing the B Mix but it has riboflavin in it which is B2. Maybe it's O.K. because most is washed away in the water and rinsing. I'll have to ask her Monday what the deal is with that. And then I picked up a bowl of chicken and put it in the fridge. Probably shouldn't have. So don't know if I'll pass the B's but A should be O.K.

This is hard! I need better directions and better lists of exactly what you're allowed to eat. There are so many little ingredients in everything. I end up on the computer searching for things. We'll see on Monday.

It's worth it, it's worth it, it's worth it!! Absolutely. I hope.

Vitamin C, Sugar, Iron

The Vitamin C Mix was clear today!!! I'm relieved because I didn't want to do that one again.

So on to Sugar Mix. (cane sugar, beet sugar, brown sugar, corn sugar, honey, maple sugar, molasses, fructose, glucose, sucrose, lactose, dextrose, rice sugar, maltose, date sugar, and grape sugar.) Passed! I guess that's a big one. She said some people take weeks to clear it. I don't eat much sugar so it wouldn't have been too hard except that there is so much hidden in everything. I have to ask her about that next time though because I thought I was lactose intolerant. Maybe not anymore.

Then Iron Mix. (ferrous sulfate, ferrous gluconate, beef, pork, lamb, gelatin, fortified or added iron in products.) Passed!

Then Vitamin A Mix. (Fish mix, shellfish mix and beta carotene.) Flunked!

So I asked about B Complex and she realized we had skipped that. I had really thought I would probably not pass that because one common symptom of that allergy is anxiety disorder. And sure enough...flunked! She decided to just clear them both together which is great except that limits what I can eat for 25 hours to pasta and rice and coffee. I just had some cooked pasta with some sea salt. If I had just done the B's separately I could have had some olive oil and salmon in it!

Oh well, it will be nice to clear them both at once (I hope). It will just be a long 25 hours. Why are you always hungrier when you know you can't eat??

She gave me some drops for the adrenal glands for my high cortisol level and stress, and I go back on Monday.

No More Advair!

Monday's appointment went as I expected. She did the testing for Vit. C again and sure enough, I was still allergic.

I guess after what I did I couldn't really expect anything else. And she said sometimes with the "big" categories (C is in almost everything) it takes more than one clearing even if you do everything right. So she cleared it out again, got me strong, and said, "Now this is the way I want you to be when you come back." I'm going back tomorrow for the next test. If I pass C then it's on to the B vitamins.

I am being extra careful today not to come in contact with anything. I am not going to mess this up again!! Have to make it until 5:30. I'm hungry, but it's really not too bad if I can get rid of this allergy. I had chicken and eggs last night and so far this morning just coffee. I've been very careful with the cosmetics and creams and of course the vitamins. No more of that "test ruining" calcium today!

I imagine a lot of you reading this (if anyone is?) may be thinking this can't be for real. I have to say it really is truly amazing and is something you have to experience yourself to see how it works. The difference between your muscle strength before and after she clears you out is dramatic. Is there a way the tester could be affecting the outcome one way or another? I can't find one. Besides, what would be the point? She thought I would probably be allergic to egg and I wasn't. It is fascinating!

The Chinese herbs she gave me the first time are also helping. I haven't had to use the Advair. Hooray!

If you have any questions just ask and I'll do my best to answer.

Calcium Pills - oops!

I went for my second appointment yesterday at 1:30. After some discussion about how to proceed it was decided to do a combination of NAET and acupuncture. Unfortunately it's not covered by my insurance.

The first thing she did was an acupuncture treatment on my back. She put all the needles in, put a warming light over me and left for 20 minutes. I have to say it didn't hurt. You can feel the needles but it isn't uncomfortable. The problem was I couldn't get comfortable on the table, Your head goes face down in a donut hole and you get scrunched. So I couldn't relax. Next time I'll have to find a different position.

After that she started the NAET treatment. Because it is so involved I'm putting another link here so if you're interested you can read about the basic procedure.

The first combination she tested for was Egg Mix (egg yolk, egg white, chicken, tetracycline, feathers), and seemed to be very surprised that I wasn't allergic to it. She said most of her patients are. Next was the Calcium Mix (cal-citrate, cal-gluconate, cal-lactate, cow's milk, goat's milk, milk-casein, milk-albumin, lactic acid) and I also passed that. Hey! This is great! I wonder how far I can go? Then came the Vitamin C Mix and my arm just couldn't hold up. It was so weird! The mix contains vegetables, fruits, vitamin C, ascorbic acid, oxalic acid, citric acids, citrus mix, berry mix, fruit mix, vinegar mix, chlorophyll, hesparin, rutin, and bioflavonoid.

Next were the procedures to clear the allergy. Acupressure points and needles left in for 20 minutes (little ones,--don't hurt.) Then you go home and totally avoid everything for 25 hours. So while I was laying on the table for that 20 minutes I started thinking about everything with Vit.C in it. I realized I probably had Vitamin C on my face from a moisturizer so I had to wash before I left the office. You can still touch things for a bit right after the treatment, but if I had waited 'til I got home (a 25 min. drive) it would have been too late.

Sources of exposure for Vit.C...huge! I eat tomato sauce almost every day and I drink a fruit drink, (I use it to flavor water all day long), a lot of my vitamins have C added, all fruits and vegetables, onions, salad dressings, shell fish etc., etc., etc. Plus it's in almost all cosmetics, shampoos, conditioners, and detergents and soap. I wash my face with a Vit.C soap and there is citric acid in my shower gel and hand soap.

When I got home I couldn't even wash my hands until I found an olive oil soap that is O.K. (I hope). Everything else had citric acid it it. I did have a moisturizer that was usable. Thank goodness, because I had washed my face with Dial soap in her office and by the time I arrived home I was a little shriveled prune.

I was very careful not to come in contact with anything. Dinner was a challenge though. I couldn't find anything to eat. I ended up having 2 eggs and two buffalo burger patties. (Buffalo is great and healthier for you than chicken.) Anyway, I had about had it, so I took my calcium pills and went to bed early.

I put my head on the pillow and it suddenly dawned on me. The calcium pills have added stuff in them! I ran downstairs to look and sure enough...Vitamin C! How could I have been so stupid not to check that??? So I have probably undone everything and will have to be retreated for C when I go back on Monday. There is a chance I could have been cleared but I would say probably not since you usually have to wait 25 hours and I had only gone 5 before popping the calcium. All that work for nothing!? Well, at 4:00 today I can eat again and then I'll just have to see what happens Monday,

I knew this was going to be a long process and there's even a chance it might not work at all. So look at the bright side....I passed eggs and calcium. Right?

First NAET Appointment

Had my consultation Monday. The person I talked to was named Christina and she has an M.S in Traditional Oriental Medicine, with lots of other credentials that I won't list.

We talked about my allergies etc., and she thought it would be a good idea to start out with what is called NAET, or Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination Techniques, combined with accupuncture. She sent me home with a book to read and I have also been checking out the website. It really sounds promising and I am really eager to get started. I can't really explain it too well now but I'll post all about it after my first treatment. (I also found an interesting article online.)

She gave me some herbs to try before I come back. After asking me a lot of questions she determined one that should work and I think it is helping already. The constant post nasal drip and coughing seems to be better today. I'm sure this will probably be a pretty long process but will certainly be worth it if I can feel better. If you have any illness that you think could possibly be allergy related check out the site. It's really interesting.
