Getting ready for a trip home

In a few days I'll be heading south to visit my family. I'm trying to get prepared. Not only packing my suitcase but getting things inside my head ready too. The hardest part-- well, there are 3 hardest parts.
1) Not everyone inside wants to go. However, its the only way to see my sister and her kids.
2) Sticking to my meal plan. That is the toughest part. Going to see my nutritionist this week before we leave to hopefully get a pep talk and a plan. My family is insane about food.
3) Being away from the familiar. Being away from home for over a week is difficult. Not being here with my own stuff, my husband, my dogs, my own bed, my therapist, my safe environment--that is really tough. Down where I'm going to see my family, there isn't going to be any help if anything comes up. And things WILL come up. They always do.

Many blessings on your trip. I hope you and your sister have a great time together. As for the rest, I hope for the best visit possible.

Pilgrim: Wow, you've been through so much lately. And now you're going home. I hope your sister will be supportive and you'll get some good ol' warm fuzzies with her kids. I know about stuff coming up, though. Please stay safe and take gentle care. Let us know how it goes.
