Taking a day off work
This is a better day. We have been so stressed out from work. We've been working really hard on something-- its not regular work, its something we're doing for the district that is extra. Its a lot of mental work and data-gathering and organization, which is something Caroline is good at but not the rest of us. So it takes a LOT of energy to get it done. So we've been all stressed out.
It makes everyone more switchy and louder inside and then we also lose track of who's doing what & when-- communication goes haywire. There is so much that everyone needs to talk about with our therapist, 4 people are counting down the days until we go see our T again (Tuesday, which seems so far away) and we're just trying to hold on til then. There is always so much to hold inside from 1 week to another.
So today we get a day off. We got to sleep in an extra hour. Missy got a chance to do one of her favorite Tae Bo boot camp workouts. Mae got to watch one of her favorite shows, The Wonder Pets. Tuck likes it because the turtle (one of his favorite animals) is named Tuck on there. Mae likes the show because they go rescue & help other animals. Caroline likes that the kids watch it because the show encourages working together as a team. One of the things we also like about it is that its visually a nice looking show. The kids have also done an art project (making butterflies for their playroom) and Caroline has had some time to make things for her classroom for next year. In just a little bit Tuck gets to do his own art project too. Later on we can play with our dogs outside in the sprinkler. Then hopefully we will have some time to just lay on the couch and read.

I'd like to ask a favor, if OK. Would you be open to indicating whether it's 14 year old Pilgrim or adult Pilgrim when you post? It's not necessary, but it's nice to know whose words we're reading. What do you think?
We got once a week for 2 hours because we have to drive such a long time to get to T (takes almost an hour to get there). Thats why we switched to 1 time a week-- to save gas. We used to go 1 hr twice a week at her old office which was closer. Also, we had trouble with only 1 hour at a time, it was just way too short.
Of course, 2 hours is too short. And going only 1 time a week is not nearly enough either. If we could afford it and if she had time in our schedule, we wish we could go twice a week for 2 hours (in emergencies, we have.)
Real Me... we will try better at identifying ourselves.
1 hour does seem too short. My T allows us to send unlimited emails. She doesn't respond unless we say "please respond to this" but just knowing she's reading and we have that contact helps.
Hi I am a teacher as well and my T just recently diagnosed DID. I am scared, no one will cooperate with therapy...we are afraid to talk. How have you been able to talk to your T? I have been going for 8 months and still am afraid. I know that my T is frustrated because we go and sit there....we have an alter who says NO TALKING...it is too dangerous. I am so afraid all the time...PLEASE If you have ideas to help...let me know.

1st, I'd recommend that you come join AMJ at

Also, it took way longer than 8 months for me to start talking to my T about this, so don't worry, you're doing fine. Maybe you could write a note? Or have everyone inside write notes about what they want to say, and your T read it at the beginning of a session as a jumping off point? That is something that helped me a lot.
I was just curious, what type of pre-school kids do you teach? I work with develpementally delayed 19-21 year old students. I love my job but it can be very hard some times too. When I read some of your other entries it seems like you get just as attached to the kids as I do. My best friend teaches Sp. Ed Pre-school and she loves it. She is trying to get me to move and work with her.
Have a great summer.

Just wondering...do you prefer going to T once a week for 2 hours as opposed to twice a week? Is it your choice or your T's? I ask because we're going 2x a week, Mondays and Thursdays for an hour each, but I'm wondering if 2 hours one time would be better. To me, 1 time a week seems very difficult, tried it in the beginning but it was only for 1 hour.
