Day 38
This week has certainly been challenging. Remember how I was talking about having candida and wondering how to deal with it? Well, I was reading a thread on Curezone where someone got rid of their candida by taking up to 1/4 of a cup of xylitol a day, so Ross and I decided to add it to our regime until it did the job. We got to day 2 and the cravings to eat cooked food were so strong that they nearly overwhelmed our resolve. We came so close to actually going and having a cooked meal that it was frightening. We weren't even enjoying our salads as much and were losing the taste for the raw foods.
I realised what it was and so we stopped having the xylitol straight away after a narrow escape. So back to the drawing board. We have decided to do a serious bowel cleanse and colonic to clear out old pockets plus I have ordered Gabriel Cousens book that talks about dealing with candida from a raw perspective and apparently lays out menus and guidelines to follow. Can't wait for the cravings to be gone completely, they are still hanging around a little and I don't like having them back at all. So beware any of you that are thinking of trying xylitol as a candida cure.

Day 29 - beginning week no. 5
No. 1 priority this morning - to weigh ourselves. Well, I weigh in at 63 kilos (loss of 5 kilos in 4 weeks or 11lbs) and Ross weighs in at 63 1/2 which means I finally weigh less than him, yeah. I did a liver cleanse on Friday night with the olive oil, grapefruit juice and epsom salts and so still feeling a little weak from that. Didn't get many stones out this time ( last time in May I got out a 2cm gallstone plus hundreds of pea size and bigger ones). Ross couldn't do one because his adrenals and thyroid are weak at the moment which means your liver doesn't have the oomph to push the stones out.
My hip and back are still giving me grief and I am so hanging out for the day when the pain fades and disappears. It fuels my determination more than anything. My candida is still going strong so I am cutting out fruit for the next 3 weeks or in other words, until our wedding. We are both eating very simply and really enjoying coleslaw (salad made with cabbage) plus olives, avocadoes and tomatoes are pretty high on the list. Felt pretty good this last week and can feel improvements in energy levels with each day that passes. Have started sprouting and did some chickpeas then made them into hummus but Ross and I decided that we didn't like that so back to the simple stuff.
