The FDA announced today that fresh spinach is once again safe to eat.

U.S. Food and Drug Administration officials said late in the day that all the affected brands linked to a nationwide E. coli outbreak had been recalled.

"Spinach on the shelves is as safe as it was before this event," said Dr. David Acheson, chief medical officer for the FDA's Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition.
