Italians, Nutella, and Trader Joe's to the Rescue

nutellaFun factoid: Most Italians consider peanut butter to be schifoso. That's Italian for "really, really freakin' gross and disgusting."

When I lived in Italy, my Italian friends used to ask, "How can Americans eat peanut butter? It is very disgusting, yes?"

Instead, they eat Nutella. It's a hazelnut/chocolate spread that is out of this world delicious. Sadly, it also contains partially hydrogenated oils. At least the American version of Nutella does. I'm not sure about the European version. It seems that partially hydrogenated oils are spreading like a virus, taking over everything that's good in the world. *sigh*

But there is hope: I hear Trader Joe's sells a product very similar to Nutella but without the hydrogenated crap. Hurray for Trader Joe's! How would we live without them?
