Mexican Avocados Make a Run for the Border

Filed under Avocados | Comments (0)

After years of struggle, the Mexican avocado has finally gained the right to cross the border into California and onto our plates. Will the Mexican avocado and the California avocado duke it out in the streets or will they live together in fruity harmony? There's a message for us from a Mexican avocado in the San Francisco Chronicle:

There are millions of us on our way into your guacamole, Cobb salads, California rolls and BLTs. And this time we're not coming in suitcase linings, car trunks or via underground tunnels. After more than 90 years, your state government, like those of 47 other states in your union, has finally relented.

Message from an avocado / Fruit from Mexico coming your way -- all is forgiven
