Vioxx Recalled, Jerry Lewis Urges Congress to Help Chronic Pain Sufferers

"The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Thursday acknowledged the voluntary withdrawal from the market of Vioxx (chemical name rofecoxib), a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) manufactured by Merck & Co."

"Veteran comedian Jerry Lewis came to Capitol Hill on Tuesday to speak in support of legislation sponsored by a Michigan congressman that would address chronic pain, a medical problem experienced by one in every five American adults."

Antidepressant for Fibromyalgia, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Stem Cell Research

"The antidepressant duloxetine, also known as Cymbalta, may significantly reduce symptoms of fibromyalgia in women, according to a new study."

"Two medical journals are reporting advances in stem cell research using adult stem cells, including a case where rheumatoid arthritis was apparently cured."
