Pfizer's Bextra Recalled

US health officials asked Pfizer to halt sales of its Bextra arthritis medication due to potential risks, and ordered new warning labels for others in a similar class of drugs, including Pfizer's Celebrex.

"Arthritis drugs like Celebrex and the recently withdrawn Vioxx may boost the immune system's ability to attack brain tumors, and possibly other types of cancer, researchers said on Friday."

Women with fibromyalgia may want to talk with their doctor about the antidepressant duloxetine.

Arthritis Drug Increases Heart Attack Risk, Daily Drug for Migraines?

Patients taking Vioxx for arthritis had a 50 percent greater chance of heart attacks and sudden cardiac death than individuals using Celebrex.

Many doctors are prescribing daily drugs to prevent migraines from ever starting.
