Vioxx Recalled, Jerry Lewis Urges Congress to Help Chronic Pain Sufferers

"The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Thursday acknowledged the voluntary withdrawal from the market of Vioxx (chemical name rofecoxib), a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) manufactured by Merck & Co."

"Veteran comedian Jerry Lewis came to Capitol Hill on Tuesday to speak in support of legislation sponsored by a Michigan congressman that would address chronic pain, a medical problem experienced by one in every five American adults."
