Don Ho Recovering from VesCell Stem Cell Therapy

Hawaiian singer Don Ho is recovering in a Thailand hospital after undergoing an experimental stem cell procedure to treat a type of weakened heart muscle called nonischemic cardiomyopathy.

It involves multiplying stem cells taken from his blood and injecting them into his heart in hopes of strengthening the organ ... The singer had "an extremely weak" heart that was pumping far less blood than a healthy organ before the surgery, his doctor said. (Washington Post)
