Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese method of healing that is more than 5,000 years old. It is based on the premise of balancing one's chi, allowing it to become unblocked and to flow freely through chi pathways in the body (meridians). This is done by placing fine needles at precise acupuncture points where chi is blocked.
