New Food Pyramid for Children Unveiled
A new food pyramid targetted toward children ages 6-11 was unveiled today by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. This follows on the heels of a new food pyramid for adults earlier in the year.
The federal government today unveiled the first “food pyramid” specifically aimed at 6- to 11-year-old children, hoping that sound dietary advice combined with an interactive computer game featuring a rocket ship will help combat the growing obesity epidemic among children. (Washington Post)
