Menopause

Menopause occurs when a woman goes through hormonal changes as she gets older. It can also occur early if a woman undergoes a hysterectomy. It may take some time for a woman to make the full transition through menopause, with menstrual periods becoming increasingly more sporadic until they disappear completely. The hormone changes that occur can cause major upheaval in a woman's life, causing mood swings, hot flashes, and a loss of sex drive. However, every woman experiences menopause differently and some women may not have many adverse symptoms.
