Droopy eyelid, or ptosis, is a drooping of the upper eyelid that can have many different causes. Ptosis can be mild or severe. In severe cases, the eyelid may droop so low as to cover the pupil of the eye and impair vision.
Some people are born with ptosis (congenital ptosis) while others develop it as a part of the aging process or as a complication after eye surgery.
